NMBS/SNCB….100 years old this year. Let me drop some knowledge here. Maybe some of you will find it interesting. #ReadOn
This shit is a true Milestone. If you’re not familiar with the Belgian railways, they are the “Grondleggers/Fondateurs” (founding fathers) of the Modern European railroads. After England, Belgium was the leader in the Industrial Revolution this side of the ocean. Belgium looked at their English neighbors and said “Fuck, thats cool.” What did they do? They took the torch in hand and layed THE FIRST TRACK IN EUROPE. Brussel to Mechelen to be exact. That is the first layed track in all of Continental Europe. That is amazing. The Oostende – Gent line was the first “unofficial” high speed line because there are no level crossings or stops, it just flew.
Before you go after a target and “hit” it, I like to learn about the subject. I like to find out, “is this worth it?” THIS is…a double entendre. If you ready to beef and you wanna hit a dude, hats off if you just swing with your heart but figure that shit out first. The Art of War type shit….I wanna be 5 steps ahead of them. Why not learn your subject first? This is not for everyone, of course, nor should violence be your first option so let’s go back to trains. Learn the system, date the system, caress the system, respect the system, take it out on a date. I love to Wine and Dine, its part of our human bond, whether with another human or machine. You guys ever seen Full Metal Jacket? You remember the scene at the beginning where Gomer Pyle was so out of his mind that he was “in love” with his rifle? He’d talk sweet to it, keep it clean, do his best with it. Thats the shit i’m talking about here. The doubledecker pictured above especially, when I see these Giants, I am in awe. Dondi in Style Wars explained that feeling of entering a yard or layup and getting the smells, the environment around you making a bond, a connection. That is some golden shit right there from Dondi. Think about it for a bit. Or not, the world keeps turning, right? Be safe out there.
