I love this topic. I have heard enough insights from different ethnic backgrounds.
We are all so quick to judge each other. I’m going to keep this simple. One dude once told me, “the Toy is the state of mind”. That same dude ran with a dude that did “Toy” things. Its hilarious, really. I’ve been called all things, but I dont identify with any of it. Actually, yes, I do. I’m a nobody and let me tell you, that can also be a great thing in the world of graffiti. I’ve been told that social media is SO good for graff. You’re like “Immortalized”. Dude, why the f*ck would I want to be “Immortalized.” I’m a fuckin Gypsy that loves my small family, traveling, experiencing and looking forward to the great beyond hereafter. Shit, I said I would keep this short….i’m going off.
Be a Toy, Be a “King” (the only King in my eyes is Bob Ross), be a writer, be an artist, be a tagger, be a vandal….Bro/Sis, be your fuckin self and dont worry about what anyone else says. That shit does not sit in the area of your control. Some of the greatest artists in the world has/had the biggest haters, lovers, sabateurs…Why would you think you yourself, would be any different? Embrace that shit and keep going. I am writing this while sitting on the Belgian Coast eating my fish and chips and looking out at the sea. Do what YOU want and keep going, keep striving, keep visualizing. These others wont be with you, only you yourself are with you. Enjoy that shit. I walked into a bar once in San Diego and the first thing I heard this bartender say was: “If you ain’t got haters, you ain’t doing it right.” I was taken aback instantly. First of all, what a statement to walk into but secondly, quite profound. Now, take that info and keep fuckin’ moving. The more you succeed the more you’ll see “true colors” of others come out. Enjoy the ride, surf the wave, keep pedaling the bike. When you stop, they win.
In Conclusion, I’ve heard people call persons “King”, some of these dudes never even amounted to anything, not even having a “pot to piss in”. Be careful who you idolize. And on that note, Idolize yourself. Bob Ross said “we dont make mistakes, just happy accidents.” Run with that.
